Artist History
Ambient/Experimental guitarist Alan Imberg has been an active member of the San Francisco Bay Area community for over a decade. His music has been heard on local television shows as well as stages of local music venues. From 1986 to 1993, Alan performed in a variety of "metal" bands that played clubs and bars throughout Northern California. While recognition for these bands was minimal(almost non-existent!), the experiences led Alan to a musical and spiritual epiphany which dramatically changed his creative course. In 1993, Alan began concentrating on composing, performing, and recording ambient instrumental pieces. In 1995, he provided the musical score for a local television show entitled "The Joy of Poetry" which featured an interview with then-US Poet Laureate Robert Hass. He has since provided music for other local TV shows. In 2000, his piece "Overview of Water" was included on the CD compilation "Ambient Landscapes 2" from Dark Duck records. In March 2001, Alan released his debut full-length CD entitled "A Collection of Thoughts". |

Press Reviews
"Alan Imberg's "Overview of Water" really turns the album (Ambient Landscape's 2) in a warm direction. Bearing some resemblance to the work of Danna and Clement, the song has a natural organic ebb and flow which easily evokes scenes of gently undulating water. What sounds like guitar (a la Jeff Pearce) brings a second dimension to the song with its plaintive call and cry."- Bill Binkelman / Wind & Wire |
