LUCIFER IN DRAG \ PERHAPS GRADE A+ REVOLT IN STYLE magazine, san diego CALIFORNIa
As the majority of late 90's rock groups struggle to mimic the sounds of alternative rock godfathers Jane's Addiction and Nirvana, most of these bands do their predecessors the great disservice of over simplifying
their sounds and accompanying them with lyrics that are, to put it simply, lame. San Diego's Lucifer In Drag, on the other hand, builds each song from the ground up, guiding the listener on a journey from mellow grooves and
smoky soundscapes to thunderous movements of(the musical equivalent of) crashing waves and dropping bombs.
....Perhaps... remains an inspiring musical accomplishment..... recalling the thoughtful musicianship of bands like The Velvet Underground,R.E.M., and mellower Jane's Addiction song. REVOLT IN STYLE magazine |
