    Artist description
The phenomenon known as quintophonic sound is the product of only one musical outfit, Richmond, Virginia's DRAGSTRIP SYNDICATE. An aural sensation forged from a three guitar attack and the most destructive rhythm section in rock. On stage the band writhes as it wails, burning through each song with inspired fury. Shows end in duelling guitar solos, smashed instruments and stunned audiences grasping for more.

    Artist History
In late 1997, consisting of equal parts deep soul, pre-punk, and 70's rock, the DRAGSTRIP SYNDICATE was born. That autumn, vocalist JON BROWN recorded a few Elvis tunes as a present for his family at Christmas. He enlisted drummer MATT FORREST and guitarist KEVIN INGE to assist him. After the session had closed, the three musicians agreed to form a band to challenge the stagnant, soul-less music scene surrounding them. To thicken the sound, bassist MICK WINTERS joined to provide the needed low end support. For over a year this lineup toured, recorded and shared stages with the likes of Rocket from the Crypt, Delta 72, Mojo Nixon (who declared the band "a mix between The Who and Ted Nugent"), Gas Huffer, Alabama Thunder Pussy and Deadbolt. The foundation was firmly in place when the four original members offered guitarist ERIK SUGG the coveted third guitarist position. ERIK'S addition solidified the lineup and the band entered a new phase. To announce the arrival of this new sound, the band performed a show as the legendary MC5, a band which along with Iggy Pop and the Stooges, and 60's soul, comprise the band's primary influences. The cult success of the MC5 show and a recent opening slot performance with Nashville Pussy prove the DRAGSTRIP SYNDICATE has come of age. With the production of a new full-length record in it's final stages and a spring 2000 tour on the horizon, the DRAGSTRIP SYNDICATE is ready to lead the RockandRollSoul Revolution.

    Press Reviews
"The late nineties saw a revival of the kind of rock that hasn't been around since the days when punk was yet to be called punk. Forget that chump with the Theremin, I'm talking about fully committed arse-shaking rock'n'roll with no stylistic flourishes and no ironic escape hatches. A REAL blues explosion. Take locals Dragstrip Syndicate; five gentlemen with three guitars, who posess a love for the soul side of rock and more mojo than you can legally carry north of the Mason Dixon line. Imagine if the Black Crowes were less like a band from LA, or if John Fogerty had a Big Muff distortion pedal. I guarantee no other rock band in this town has such a grasp of what it truly means to boogie." -Curtis Payne(Punchline)
