Artist History ...a little jam one day in the summer of 1996 started 'the sparetime ROCK-band' with the name of 'B-Band' (later and now DESTORTION). All members was (and still are) playing in other bands, but decided after their first 'jamsession' together, that they thereafter would meet once a week to practice, play, write and compose music LIVE at location. At March, 13 1999 they went to a recording studio in stead of the rehearsel room to record 'what they do once a week', and a demo with 4 tracks was recorded LIVE. - BUY IT. If you like: Cheap Trick, Frank Stallone, Blue Oyster Cult? then you are to Destortion. #AudioGalaxy '99. _________________________________DESTORTION 'Live at Ark' (ADVANCED DEMO CDR) DESTORTION comes out of Denmark and they sent me a promo CDR that contains 4 songs, but this CDR already gave me a good impression what DESTORTION is all about. I can hear a clear 80s influence in their music that I always like when a band does have that. The first song is called “Running”, a nice uptempo melodic rocker. Also next track “Love promises” is in this style, yet a little faster.Third track “Sooner or later” is the band’s best song, a good semi AOR rocker in the best 80s style. Also very 80s sounding is the closing track “Better days”.This song is a nice uptempo melodic poprocker/AOR in the early 80s style and actually it calls memories of a band called 4 OUT OF 5 DOCTORS (does anyone remember them?).Rating: 7,5 out of 10 #--- Strutter'Zine Dec.'99
