Artist History Bum RucKus is a super catchy ska/pop-punk band with hip-hop influences from Cooper City Florida which is a suburb of Fort Lauderdale. The band first began rocking garage's in 1998 under the name The Shinobi-Tones, many names were thrown around till the name was changed shortly to Bum RucKus. The founders of the group were Eddie OBrien(bass) Ryan Hernandez(vocals) and Josh Greenburg(drums), who all still play with the group. During the first few months there were various changes in the lineup, the band has gone through about a dozen horn players as well as two guitar players. The band progressed with each change and soon enough, the lineup was set. The band has played in every major city in Florida including: Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Gainesville, Orlando, Tallahassee and Tampa. The band has played Florida Venues such has The Night Owl in Pensacola, The Purple Porpoise in Gainesville, The Chili Pepper in Fort Lauderdale, The Pompano Beach Amphitheater, The USF Sundome In Tampa, and many others. The band has gone on 3 mini tours, financial problems have made it hard to go far away, on the most recent tour they went up to Atlanta GA, On the first tour(1999) the band was able to open up for ska superstars Less than Jake, who are one of the bands biggest Influence, The second tour(1999) was a mini-tour with The Youth Ahead, a New Jersey Pop/punk band. On the most recent tour(2001) The band played 3 dates of the Vans Warped Tour on the 2nd and Volcom stages, they also played shows in Atlanta w/Trephort, Gainesville and Jacksonville. Along with Less than Jake the band has opened up for numerous National acts including Blink 182, Mu330, Fenix Tx, Green Day and many others. In 1999 the band was offered a spot on the local stage of the vans warped tour. This was a big move for the band they played in front of about 600 people and got great feedback,, bands on that tour included Eminem, Black eyed Peas and Pennywise. Bum RucKus played the 3rd stage on two dates of the 2000 warped tour in West Palm Beach and Orlando and played select dates on the 2001 Warped Tour. Bum RucKus has 2 releases under there belts, The "Said and Done" ep and the "Self Titled" EP, Said and done was released through Kosher Records and Included the Tracks Dying to know, Unpersonal Vendetta, Shelly Delong, Live Until I die and Top of the list. The Self Titled EP was Self released and Included the tracks intro/struck a nerve, All in Time, Kevin's Song and Dying to Know. The Future for Bum RucKus includes a follow up release to there Self Titled EP, Lots of Local shows and lots of time in the studio.
