Artist History The knife began as a musical vent for two friends that have played many times around each other in the same musical circle, but not together as a band. Jake Unruh and John Coffman both grew up in the small, west texas town of Snyder. Having bands that frequently played bands together, they had a good friendship, but they never had the privilege of playing together. Since they both moved to the Dallas, TX area they felt this the best oppertunity to start a musical venture togtether since they were living so close, and no one else was there to play with. At first the idea was to start a emo/pop punk band but the situation to spawn one never seemed to arise. instead the two took out their acoustic instruments with the same musical mind set and just decided on an acoustic punk rock duo
