Artist History
Getting his start in Drum & Bugle Corps when he was only nine years old, Raymond has always been passionate and driven with music! In the beginning he was interested in becoming a drummer, but after a short stint on the xylophone, he decided that he wanted to try the brass instruments…trumpet, french horn and baritone. For the next eight years, he performed in various jazz, orchestral, marching and concert bands…and was nominated for Honor Band all three years in high school.
On November 23rd , 1986, Raymond purchased a synthesizer and began learning how to play the keyboard. After three lessons and a few months of practicing for hours on end, he was asked to audition for a group that was currently touring West Germany. While he toured with this group, he consistently wrote piano music that was often referred to by his peers as “soundtrack” music. This clash of different music styles eventually led to the demise of this band and Raymond moved back to his home in Washington state.
For the past 14 years, Raymond has been a member of quite a few groups. Inspired by Robert Lamm of Chicago, Michael W. Smith, Pink Floyd, George Winston and Elton John, he continues to compose piano instrumentals and pop songs.
