Artist History
The A team band consists of Dan and Doug Petty on guitar and keys, Marty Beller on drums (although Sim Cain played on the record) and Winston Roye or Jeff Allen on bass. After the release of the first record, I needed to put together a touring band that consisted of great players who were also really easy to be around. Dan and I met through Rich Pagano, who played drums on "Little Leviathon", and was also in the band Marry Me Jane with Dan (and well, you know what happened there). Doug kind of came along with Dan (they are identical twins) and just happened to be a world class player, having toured with every big act out there now (Shawn Colvin and Enrique Iglesias to name two). I'm not sure whether I found Marty or Marty found me, but once we found each other, realized we were both Cancers and hated overused sayings (i.e. phone-tag, "been there, done that", etc.) we knew we were destined to play together. Winston is a man of mystery. He showed up at an audition for my touring band and continues to show up (and throw down) whenever bass is needed. |

Press Reviews
Lewis has made an auspicious debut as a singer-songwriter with Little Leviathan™, a crafty collection of songs that concern big square pegs and small round holes. (She) not only has empathy for her characters, a gallery of aging misfits and young troubled souls, she has a wonderful way of bringing them to life with both her pen and her voice....Her songwriting is lean and true, often capturing the essence of someone personality or plight in a single verse and her singing voice is equally impressive, capable of fully expressing the poignancy, passion and emotional despiration that give meaning and tension to her songs....Washington Post 9/98..Lewis tackles her craft like a touched, talented crossover queen whose commercial appeal is offset by a beleagered, twisted interior. In the depression-addled "Dig Me Out"™ the musician cuts loose..."It's hard to look pretty underground"™ she sings mournfully, and her words fully expose her dichotomous appeal...- Time Out NY 11/98...Although Lewis is a new face to many, insiders of the publishing world have been watching her hone her formidable skills for several years now. She gets her long-deserved chance to shine as an artist on this sterling first single (Nowhere & Everywhere)... Lewis has a quirky creak in her voice and a playful demeanor that sets her far apart from her competitors... Billboard 9/98 |
