Artist History
Lesl grew up in downtown New York. She studied ballads with the late Richard Dyer-Bennet, spent 7 years in England performing traditional songs, and founded the Keltia band in New Jersey. Wanting a purer expression of the music, Lesl ended up at its roots - Irish Traditional Music. Since then she has studied with Irish flute player Mike Rafferty of East Co. Galway. ~~~ Former flute accompanist to American-Welsh songstress Jodee James, Lesl plays in Irish sessions, does home recording, and occasionally teaches privately. She lives with husband Bill, daughter Melanie, and Squeak the cat (all musicians). |
