Artist description My newest project is a "straight ahead" jazz group with some blues, gospel and funk influences. The instrumentation varies from a trio to a septet to an octet+choir.

Artist History Trumpeter, band leader, arranger and composer Kenny Rampton grew up in Las Vegas, and studied music on full scholarship at both the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and the Berklee College of Music. In 1989, he moved to New York where he quickly established his reputation as a versatile musician, touring with The Ray Charles Orchestra, Panama Francis and The Savoy Sultans, The Jimmy McGriff Quartet, Wynton Marsalis, Jon Hendricks and Lionel Hampton, among others. Currently, Kenny is performing and touring with The Mingus Big Band, Chico O?Farrill?s Afro-Cuban Big Band, The Jimmy McGriff Quartet and The George Gruntz Concert Jazz Band. He has appeared at the Blue Note, Village Vanguard, Sweet Basil, Birdland and jazz clubs and festivals worldwide.
