Artist History
Kendrick Kirk was Born July 9, 1981 in Knoxville, TN. Trained as a classical pianist, he soon found himself playing in bars and clubs in east Tennessee as an augmentation to a funk group. During this time, Kendrick was studying Music Composition at the University of Tennessee, and quickly found it artistically draining. In August of 2002, after a summer of becoming frustrated with the local mentality, Kendrick retreated to Boston, where on a few occassions before, refreshed his artistic abilities. While in Boston, Kendrick revisited Berklee College of Music (he was last there in the summer of 2000, but found himself intimidated by the magnitude of such a prestigous school), and applied to transfer. When asked about himself before his actual move to Boston, Kendrick said this, "I am a guy who loves music with catchy tunes, good development, and feeling. You will find this in my music." - K.Kirk May '03 |
