Artist description
Justin Johnson ( King-Size USA, Barely Legal, Satellite NYC ) Known as "The Pride of King-Size", DJ/ Producer Justin Johnson has been rocking the dancefloors of North America for over 14 years. Justin originally began DJ'ing back in '86 on his high school radio staion. San Francisco lost its heart when "Big Double J" packed his bags for NYC over 6 years ago. He began working at Satellite Records in New York City over 4 years ago and since then has become the operations manager & one of the buyers. Justin's mix of funky breakbeats, house, occasional jungle, and even a touch of dub reggae assault has made him a favorite at countless raves, clubs, and special events. His mixtape series has been applauded for his flawless mixing skills and eclectic record selection. Justin's production skills only add to his talent arsenal. He has received great reviews and sales on tracks like '97's "Laser Blast", '98's "Cranberry Breaks", '99's "Supernatural"(w John Selway) on Don't Panic Records, and of course the overwhelming success of his own label Barely Legal Records featuring raw breakbeat tracks like "All the Ho's" & "Hot Butta" by King-Size founder Scotty Marz. He is considered the "King of Breaks" in the north east. As he prepares to release Barely Legal's second and third offerings, Justin continues to amaze the crowds with his live skills and please listeners alike with his new and original efforts. |
