Artist description
Century Media Records is proud to announce the world-wide signing of New Jersey's own, GOD FORBID. The five piece formed in September of 1997 and have released an EP ("Out Of Misery") and a full length album ("Reject The Sickness) on 9volt Discs since that time. Immediately following the recording of "Reject The Sickness", which was produced by Steve Evetts (Snapcase, Incantation, Dillinger Escape Plan), GOD FORBID garnered the attention of Century Media. Their sheer power and explosiveness simply demands that attention. The band delivers punishing riffs with an overwhelming ferocity while still crafting great songs that one can sink teeth into. GOD FORBID aim to carry on the fine tradition of brother guitarists with their very own team; Dallas and Doc Coyle. Says Dallas, "We're all about intensity. With 'Reject' we kept the intensity up throughout the whole album. On the to-be-recorded CMR release there will be a lot of different tastes of that while never lacking the heaviness that we strive for. The bands we grew up on were Metallica, Megadeth, Sepultura and the like but the influences that really led us to our own musical style are bands like At The Gates, Carcass, For The Love Of..., Morbid Angel, etc. - all METAL!" Following their performances at last years March Metal Meltdown and the New England Metal And Hardcore Fest, look for the band to record their Century Media Records debut album this fall. |

Press Reviews
-- "I caught a little God Forbid and was glad to see my impressions at the Mass Metalfest still held true. These guys put on a very energetic show and are extremely talented musicians. 'Nuff said. " Hel @ metaljudgment.com (http://www.metaljudgment.com/concerts/milwaukee2k.html)-- "Top 10 performance at Milwaukee Metalfest XIV" Death @ metaljudgment.com(http://www.metaljudgment.com/concerts/milwaukee2k.html)-- "God Forbid are a young band from New Jersey that play an excellent brand of thrash metal. There is plenty of talent here and they show much promise. The best thing I can say about this band is that they are able to come up with some very catchy and memorable riffing that precious few bands are able to do today. " Morbid Mario, Enslain Magazine #5 (http://members.aol.com/enslain/demos/godforbid.html)-- "I was honestly amazed at the brutal factor on this record...it's full of crazy riffs, and growling vocals, even with an added higher vocal at times. The cd overall is great, and is definatly worth getting!! " J.C., Passed The Limit E-Zine(http://passedthelimit.tripod.com/passedthelimitmusiczine/id3.html)--"Reject The Sickness is a great album, made even greater when considering this is merely the first full-length outing for God Forbid. It's extremely powerful, which is to say HEAVY, with well-written and memorable songs. This disc is one you can listen to the whole way through without feeling the temptation to fast-forward through anything. "(http://www.wixq.com/metal/reviews.html#God Forbid-Reject The Sickness)--"I love the 80's thrash drumming. The drum tone is incredible, it makes the album" (Marco Barbieri, Century Media) |
