Artist description
Songwriter/vocalist Celeste Ray is a multi-instrumentalist who is presently one of the top three bowed psaltry players in the world. The bowed psaltry is a harp played with two bows, creating an ethereal, haunting quality much like the combination of a Celtic harp and violin played simultaneously. Celeste has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Government House in Queensland, Australia, and currently tours throughout the United States performing both traditional and original Celtic/World music. She also plays the piano and harmonium (a mesmerizing Indian instrument). Celeste's CDs include an impressive lineup of artistry: Alex Acuna on percussion, Paul McCandless on woodwinds, Steve Kujala and Bob Afifi on flute. |
