Artist History
Time flies and this band has now been around for a couple of years.
The band was formed in late 1998, though Ove, Anders & Jasenko
had played together for a couple of years before that (most memorable for The Outdoorsters and the radio favourite "Hillybilly Party").
Quite soon the band earned a reputation as a cool and fun live band and
they played frequently on music pubs and rock-a-billy events in large areas of Sweden.
The first CD, A Home In Montana, was released in 2000, and recently (January 2002) a second
CD, Toe Tappin Tune, was released.
Today the band has a good reputation as a one-of-a-kind live band and they have
an increasing number of followers.

Press Reviews
First of all, I love the name of this band…anyone with a sense of humor gets a thumbs up from me. This band comes from Sweden and they really turned out to be a great surprise. The vocal duties are shared by lead frontgal, Washboard Wilma and the pianist/songwriter, Anders Umegard. The title of this record is definitely accurate as Wasboard Wilma and her boys play uptempo toe-tapping rock and roll that has a great boogie woogie feel, thanks to Umegard’s enthusiastic key-tapping. Wilma (looking a bit like actress Lena Olin) has a sassy voice that accompanies the rockin’ tunes very well. Some accordian and harmonica is thrown in on a couple songs to give the record a slight bluesy/R&B sound that really works well with the full range of sounds the Unkool Hillbillies are able to muster. At first glance, I thought this band might be a western swing group but far from it….they play fun, uptempo boogie woogie/rock and roll that is really addictive! All of the songs are toe-tappin’ and upbeat with some humorous lyrics which adds up to a great time while the CD spins (The Rockanbilly Review)
