Press Reviews
Uninformed Johnny - BANG 7.0 (out of 10.0) - Yike's-another CD without any liner notes, or cover for that matter. The songs are nice, hooky, Pop Rock fleshed out with some dreamy keyboards and lush back up vocals. It sounds like Harry Glee Evans may have had something to do with this one (shades of Poole's "Among Whom We Shine") but that's just a guess. In the end, it's a pretty standard fare but the instrument that sets this record apart is Pernell Disney's voice: a beautiful, expressive tenor. Used to full effect on the exceptionally radio-ready refrain "I don't really notice being alone, I do it everyday," it's the vocals that hit this record out of the park. -Virginia Plaine of Snap Pop Magazine |
