Artist description
Tribal Traktion revolves around the unknown element Traktionium. Traktionium contains a raw positive energy that was essential to life before we, as humans, know it. Through the evolution of time and different life forms, Traktionium became impure and eventually was replaced by combinations natural and synthetic elements. As a result, the pure form of energy had ceased to exist. Tribal Traktion discovered a new resurfacing of Traktionium in its former impure form. The four members were able to work together and harness the pureness of Traktionium. This pure positive energy is exactly what Tribal Traktion uses to power their performance. Communication with the primal roots of life, the fierce reality of death, and the greater cosmos creates spiritual vibes that compliments their music. Creating the perfect balance of life’s many energies creates a magic which allows Tribal Traktion to pass the pure form of Traktionium on to others, thus transferring the raw positive energy, in its pure form, to all who listen. {Tribal Traktion, an underground Midwest band, is taking on the world of hard rock with a unique approach. They bring optimism and enlightenment to the hard rock music scene; an oddity when generally hard rock is depicted as dark and depressing. Triba l Traktion revels in high-energy enthusiasm, intense movement, and melodic transitions. Their songs are an extreme sports adventure into uncharted territory with different grooves, different keys, and different feelings. Tribal Traktion performs an incredibly positive and electrifying live show. Music reviewer, E. Phillips, wrote "Tribal Traktion can easily capture the best funk of the Chili Peppers, the angst of Rage Against the Machine, the melodic emotion of Stone Temple Pilots, and the melancholic isolation of Tool." Currently, the band is on a marketing tour of college towns. Popular in New Pontiac's music scene, they perform at Griff's Grill, headline 7th House, and captivate Clutch Cargo's. Branching out from familiar territory, they intoxicate crowds in Toledo, E. Lansing, Detroit, Bay City, andd soon to be the world. Tribal's first self-titled release has generated presence and reputation amongst fans of the Internet. Garageband.com had Digitalis ranked up to #8 in rock while the later single, Feel This, was ranked #37 of the 26,000 total entries on the site. Spawn to this success, they have released their second, the Sci-Fi EP. Fresh from the studio, the EP co ntains 3 songs; Break you Down, Sci-Fi, and Elemental. Tribal Traktion completed their group in August of 1999, acquiring lead singer Matthew Parnell. A horoscope inspired Parnell to contact the band. Schwarzenberger notes, "At the audition, there was instant chemistry between us all." Immediately, Parnell was part of the Tribe. Bassist Todd "Double D" Levy, Guitarist Jason "nDo" Milan, and Drummer Michael "MikeS" Schwarzenberger met as students at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. Parnell, Levy, Milan, and Schwarzenberger believe that the band is one spiritual entity, a closely woven tribe, and are determined to leave their positive tracks on every person they encounter, thus their name, Tribal Traktion. Their love of music and bond with ea ch other comes through in live performance. Levy states, "You haven"t experienced anything until you witness our live show." This is a multi-talented bunch. Levy designs all tribal logos used in merchandising, pre-band Milan supported himself with his expressionistic art, MikeS is an extreme sports enthusiast, and Parnell writes the band's lyrics, often dabbling in sound production. Milan comments, "We never forget how to have fun together!" as they hacky sack a marshmallow around the practice space, which they affectionately call The Belly. Tribal Traktion is determined to bring a fresh, positive approach to the music scene without losing their dynamic, original hard rock sound. This Philip Toshio Sudo quote from "Zen Guitar" inspires the musical ensemble, "A band is not merely a collection of individuals. Its essential character must be for the whole to exceed the sum of the parts. When the right people get together, a kind of spiritual fusion takes place. This fusion cannot be bought or forced or manufactured; No one knows how this magic happens. But when it does, we feel the presence of something divine and everyone who's there knows it. Cherish the chemistry of bands wherever you find it." |
