Artist description
Sintram is a successful mix of musicians and music from two Swedish counties; each with its own characteristic musical expression: Värmland, the county of deep forests and bewildering music, and Västerbotten; the county of vast areas and bewitching sentimentality. In these isolated areas, people have been playing and dancing the music through generations. Now, their music is brought into the 21st century by Sintram, carefully but independently interpreted by three musicians of today. |

Artist History
All these coincidens to make us whole...It all starts in Umeå 1999. Daniel had been playing with fiddler Maria Larsson now and then as a duo and progress was fine. Then, in summer 2000 - while Maria is down in her hometown Årjäng in Värmland over the holidays - Daniel meets Åsa Johansson at folkfestival Urkult and they connect musically. Another duo was born, but when Maria got back from her summerstay they all got together and jammed at the lovely "Fröken Fjällströms Café" in Umeå. Sparks, flames, thunderbolts and an uncanny musical telepathy bonded these three persons into one - the one called SINTRAM. So, two duos merge in a very natural way into a trio. Sintram is certainly a strange equation: 2+2 = 3 in this case - but still the outcome seems to be _more_ than the sum of it's parts...well, you get the picture... ;) |
