Artist description
SATOVANS' conception delves from the rock n' roll prowess of its founders Colin Hell and "The Charming" Joe Longo. Veterans of the Northwest rock scene, they joined forces to create a gut churning, fist pumping rock melee to battle the increasingly dull and uneventful rock scene that has plagued airwaves for the past several years. The two understood what was missing...Fun!!! "As cliche as it sounds, we are not trying to reinvent the wheel here" exclaims The Charming. "Emulating and rehashing the Seattle sound of the early nineties has brought profits to its chameleons but it's boring the piss out of everyone! And that just won't do!!!! " SATOVANS' collection of hard riffs and intense vocals transform an otherwise standard hard rock sound into a juggernaught of spite! |

Artist History
During the 97 straight days of winter rain in 1999 Colin and Joe began writing sessions that produced "Friends Are Dead" and "Thousand Years" - two rock anthems that scream for attention! From there the ball was sent rolling... Enter Jason Nordberg (guitar 2) a long-term collaborator and friend to The Charming. Jasons' eerie rhythm lines and guitar doubles add power to the SATOVAN sound. Jason brings much experience and his own critical acclaim to the band; labeled "a diamond in the rough" by Seattle's own Rocket Magazine. He is a perfect soldier in the SATOVAN ARMY. Added next was hard rock drummer Kirk Jameison-formerly of Narcoleptic Airforce. Kirk brought with him pro rhythm and dynamics. Now pay attention because here it gets exciting! SATOVAN enters Paradise Sound Recording Studio under the direction of famous music producer R. Chris Murphy (eschatonmusic.com, Robert Fripp, King Crimson, ...the list goes on and on). Within five days the album became an all out rock attack towering over most rock records today. The debut CD Shhh It's... SATOVAN!!!!(and it so rocks unbelievably, heavily, hard!!!) Mastering was done by Barry Corliss at Masterworks (making it even more unbelievably heavy and harder!!!) Now done and ready to be pressed Kirk switches to Bass Guitar and the drumsticks are handed to drummer Colin Richey for the live show. Colin is a metronome with fists. Endorsed by Boom Theory, he brings the Satovan Army to full attention!!!!!!!!! Now is the time to be heard. Now is a time for growing. Now is the time to sell your soul to SATOVAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
