Artist description
Okay foax, Here's the story so far, kinda. Somewhere in the vicinity of three of Earth's solar rotations, previous to the point in time you are now living within the realm of, Forked Yew burst onto the…whatever with their release entitled Hardcore Dementia. In the time-span twixt then and now they have managed to generate some seventeen and a half hours worth of sounds that may or may not be music/magic, or any other damn thing in creation. Although they do exist, and we can prove it easier than you can prove that the stuff, nonsense and mumbo jumbo you believe is real. |

Press Reviews
Forked Yew From Time’s Tomb—Warts and All (Banging Pots Music) It’s wrong of me… but I review music with a certain bit of biasness. This album showed me that. So many albums slip through my hands, which, although I might be proud of my friend who is on it and his ability to spend thousands on packaging and recording, the main rationale for many CDs seems to be just so they could tell their friends they were being sold in the mall. That being said, Forked Yew paid dirt for this album. Instead of going to the studio with the stocked bar, assortment of time-numbing drugs, and video games, these kids pooled their own assortment of mind-numbing substances and recorded one of the most bizarre albums I have heard in a very long time at home using a four-track and compiling some 70 minutes of noise onto a CD-R. Life in Bossier City, Louisiana must be a bit drab but these kids sure know how to entertain themselves. Hell, the CD came with a music video I had to quit watching about an hour into it. Forked Yew is a document to the DIY computer-generated youth who has access to every single song under the sun thanks to Napster and is dying for anything new. With a sound something like a bus crash involving Sonic Youth or Aphex Twin with just about any ambient/noise/industrial/minimalist group à la Throbbing Gristle, Kraftwerk or John Zorn; you still have no idea what this sounds like. Forked Yew are raw, new and definitely directed to a very small niche of listeners but for the few of you not so faint of heart, the best news is they are FREE for your downloading displeasure at http://www.geocities.com/seanmacx. –Paul Adams |
