    Press Reviews
Cologne, Germany is home to one of the finest undiscovered bands in the contemporary pop/rock scene : Different Faces (the foursome of Ritchie Dunlop, Manfred Scheer, Johannes Scholzen and Horst-Peter Schmidt). Different Faces sing songs about French Polynesia, the love of sailing, the summer of love, the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival and the "American Dream" - that take the listener from Philadelphia to New Orleans to the mountains and shores of California. This is not the kind of lyrical content that one would expect to hear from a German rock quartet. Those familiar with the bands earlier (1995) release, The Story of Jim Crossman, know that Different Faces has tremendous reverence for the song styles and themes explored by their musical predecessors. Owing to the musical and cultural influences that each of the Different Faces band members has experienced, these four veteran musicians convey the same stirring conviction that American and British pop/rock icons have displayed during the past four decades.
