    Artist History
Christ Cage began in 1994 when three young music college students discovered that they each shared a passion for dark electronic music. Tech wizards Rich Fantasia (formerly of Circle Of Dust) and Myk Amoia asked fellow classmate Bilian Frost (then known professionally as DJ B1L14N) to contribute vocals to their tracks. They worked hard, and soon emerged with what would be to serve as their demo. The many tapes they distributed were well-received, and they soon decided to recruit electronic drummer Brian Lynch and play some live shows. With Bilian's aggressive and often unpredictable on-stage antics, alongside the dense, dark wall of electronic textures provided by Fantasia and Amoia, the band found their audiences double with each performance. With barely any promotion other than word-of-mouth, they continually packed the local clubs with people eager to witness what would happen next. Unfortunately, on the verge of being signed to an indie label the group disbanded after two years together to pursue different musical avenues, although these recordings remain to serve as chronicles of the musical growth of these musicians. Bilian has gone on to release two projects, the electro-gothic Nomenclature (www.mp3.com/nomenclature), and the electronic industrial hardcore of Carved Insane (www.mp3.com/carvedinsane). Rich Fantasia has released a new-age trance project called Pthelo (www.mp3.com/pthelo). Myk Amoia has moved on to release the electronic avant-garde project Deep Fried Clams (www.mp3.com/deepfriedclams).

"Rising from the Gothic/Industrial scene of L.I.'s club Mesh comes Christ Cage who offer some pretty hard-beat, dance floor insanity. One could cite Skinny Puppy as having a strong musical influence on this band, but Christ Cage come off as being less fragmented lyrically and the vocals have no resemblance to Ogre whatsoever...The production on this is high quality...certainly worth having. You'd almost think that this was a pro label release. Good to see something productive coming out of a scene like Mesh, which seems to be more about possessing a look as opposed to a real talent. Maybe this will be the kick in the ass that some of those glampires need...Hmmm, sounds like the beginning of something good." - (Greg Groovy, Under The Volcano issue #27)-----------------------------------------------------------------------"When I first saw the band Christ Cage this past summer at Smashlight, I was blown away. When I saw them for the second time on November 10th at Nostradamus, they had an equal impact on me. Their industrial blend of both techno and gothic makes them more than just another "industrial" band. Vocalist Bilian Frost provides the visual imagery and voice while programmers Rich Fantasia and Myk Amoia give the myriad of sounds and samples, and at the shows Brian Lynch provides the electronic drums. Existing for less than a year, Christ Cage has made quite a name for itself. Their self-titled and self-produced demo is extremely hard to find but if you do see it, grab it and kill the man who tries to take it from you; it's that good if not better...Though they are still a young band, the music industry isn't something new for the members of Christ Cage. Bilian Frost was a DJ at the clubs Mesh and Screw. Myk Amoia is part of the musical endeavor called Deep Fried Clams and works with Brian Lynch on another project called Project:Kokoi. Rich Fantasia used to be part of the band called Circle Of Dust...If you hear they are playing somewhere, go see them and experience the next generation of the industrial scene." - (Paul Weber, Adelphi Music News November 1995)----------------------------------------------------------------------"Christ Cage, fronted by Mesh DJ Bilian, has already a few shows under its belt and has put together this demo which is amazing...'Birthright Rot' is a very danceable song (along with the others), with the hooking lyrical chant 'You've made me a monster/I'm now a monster/You've made me a monster/Happy?Happy?'...What keeps this in your head is the menacing effects Bil uses on his voice...This is one of the best unsigned bands on Long Island." - (Phod NY club 'zine)----------------------------------------------------------------------"Harsh, conceptual electronic music with angry, distorted vocals...very bugged out loops, disturbing." - (Baz, Under The Volcano issue #24)
