Artist History
Buddha Spaceship truly defines live PA. Taking the listener to new regions, exploring the deeper realms of drum ‘n bass, from liftoff to landing, this duo delivers sounds that not only move the crowd, but paint vivid pictures of sonic new worlds.
Piloted by Justin Crosby, aka Head Trik, and Gary Heslin, aka Spaceman G6, these two both got exposed to music and performance at an early age. Currently based out of Ithaca NY, they maintain a rigorous schedule of music related projects. Gary has been an active radio personality for the past 5 years. Originally hosting Radio Free Ithaca, an experimental “electronica” based program, he now currently hosts Alien Frequencies, an eclectic techno/electronic based show, primetime, on Ithaca’s premiere radio station 93.5 WVBR.
Gary’s earliest exposure to rave culture involved doing lighting for some of the areas earliest parties back in 1993/1994 with Wilhelm K at Ithaca’s State Theatre. Justin, when not busy with Buddha Spaceship, can be found producing music for the Head Trik project, all original deep acid house/chill out soundscapes. He’s a veteran performer who previously displayed his skills, back in 1993, on several Caroline Record releases with Drop Nineteens, a nationally touring indie pop act. His stay with them took him over sees to London (The Garage), Switzerland (La Dolce Vita), even the Reading festival, Reading UK. Here, primarily UK, was some of his first exposure to the electronic music scene.
Both Crosby and Heslin also manage their independent record label, Electrohead Music, which features techno/electronic music producers in the Upstate NY and Northeastern Region. Versatility is the key to their approach, intelligently crafted sets, an ebb and flow from floor shaking hard step D ‘n B, to subtle atmospheric jungle. They’ve headlined parties and performed at outdoor festivals. Buddha Spaceship is the vessel for these two talented producers to find expression, explore, and create emotion
