Artist History Boy with stick met and began playing together during their later college years.  After depleting their grandmas’ gifts of savings bonds during college, boy with stick tapped out and got temp jobs.  They reside in Minneapolis and eat a lot of rice. The band’s stereo is always on, with records by death cab for cutie, tom waits, ryan adams, the dismemberment plan, john hermanson, 12 rods, the promise ring, and bright eyes in continual rotation. Boy with stick’s amps are often on too, producing focused, accessible, involved rock that doesn’t forsake melodic integrity. As recent arrivals in Minneapolis, boy with stick can only practice in their basement for so long before alienating their geritol-swigging neighbors.  As such, the band is looking to move their set and fanbase into the area’s clubs.  They’ve already garnered a consistent following through headlining at Iowa City’s The Green Room and shows at Ames’ Boheme Bistro and Iowa City’s Gabe’s Oasis, as well as an untold number of shows during college.
