Artist description
Wiseguy is a fast super-melodic 4 piece punk outfit that combines catchy punk with elements of metal to create a fat bass sound and driving drums which, along with well placed guitar hooks will create a sense of auditorial safety. Only to be torn apart to tiny pieces and shoved into your ear canals by the full sounding tone of the fast paced, well placed, meaningful lyrics. |

Artist History
Most of Wiseguy hail from the bowels of suburbia, as childhood chums they lay to waste their middle-class Lifestyle in order to live the punk rawk dream. After 2 years of playing relitivly obscure "hard-core trash punk" a singer with talent came along, and prompted for a new style. Along with the "hard" hitting riffing of the past, a new catchy-ness came about and every thing just worked together. After a year of getting very drunk and loads of practice they hit the cosmopolitian Calgary scene. Now with a good sounding EP behind them they are keeping busy, and plan to cut a full lenght cd in the very near future. |

Press Reviews
"Wiseguy has greatly evolved since the first time I had heard them play. They've risen from crusty hard-core band noise to a heavy melodically charming, yet still in your face sound. By the sounds of their new EP; "Punk Wok, Wrestling for Raisins", Wiseguy is quickly becoming a musical force to be reckoned with in the Southern Alberta punk scene. Next time you get the chance, check them out but be wary of the fat bass sound and driving drums which, along with well placed guitar hooks will create a sense of auditorial safety. Only to be torn apart to tiny pieces and shoved into your ear canals by the full sounding tone of the fast paced, well placed, meaningful lyrics. Take heed, the angst of surburban punk is well embodied within Wiseguy. - Chris MacBurnie, CMRC 107.5 FM, The Edge" |
