Artist description
The words 'impressive', 'compelling' and 'amazing' are just some of comments you hear when this Canadian Celtic Folk Singer takes the stage. Equally exciting and versatile whether performing alone or with her band, "Wild Mountain Thyme", Jennifer Clarke (formerly Clarke Skromeda) is one of the most engaging acts on the Celtic scene. She is especially known for her 'striking' a cappella singing.
Jennifer's flexible performance style has made her a natural for all event types from intimate house concerts and coffeehouses to the likes of the West End Cultural Centre, the Winnipeg Folk Festival and Festival du Voyageur.
CBC Manitoba produced a full-length interview with selections from Jennifer's latest CD, "THE GREAT SILKIE -Tales of the Celts" for 'Art's Encounters' and 'Culture Shock' in the summer of 2001. In addition to significantA regional and national airplay, Jennifer and her recordings have also been featured in Scotland on Isles FM and the BBC.
