Artist description In December of 2000 IDIM was formed as a solution to the artistic frustration and boredom that lingers through out South Jersey. The band is constructed of two electronic artists : Jake Pfeuffer and Justin Mooney. Both of whom have been avid followers of electronic music from the early ages of 10 and 16.About a year ago the two crossed paths meeting through mutual friends and acquaintances. After going to clubs, a few conversations, and swapping CDs they discovered that their musical ambitions were in sync with one another. Jake’s musical upbringing developed by following various electro/industrial clubs and a multitude of local talent in the tri-state area. One of which was the band Crush fronted by his step brother Fredrick Schreck who also had Pigface / Killing Joke bassist Paul Fergeson in the line up. Justin’s story is somewhat similar. He spent his time in Southern California following what now seems to be a deceased “Coldwave Scene” and attending the now retired Kontrol Faktory on a regular basis. Neither individual was ever involved in any serious musical endeavors prior to IDIM. Justin has been programming and experimenting with electronic music since the age of 10.Through out the years he spent his time filling in on keyboards for various local bands , and making experimental noise tapes that were distributed amongst friends and select college radio stations in LA county. Most recently he has been involved in a project called T R I P E that he does as an Internet music project. This project is involved with the mp3.com ring of artist who collaborate under what is known as Scolex Recordings (artists who know each other personally or have become aquatinted with one another on line). Jake has only been creating music for the last nine months. Since the flow of Jake’s creative juices are fresh and ripe he’s responsible for a lot of IDIM’s direction and vision.His approach usually starts with various patterns and lyrical content that set a platform for each song. This leaves plenty of opportunity for Justin to do most of the arranging, production and editing. Justin utilizes his expertise by adding additional sampling and programming to tighten up the songs into a presentable fashion.
