Artist History
Band formed in 1977 then as "Lance Manion Presents Project Wormboy". Mr. Manion later (at the advice of his father) chose to "quit hosting this disgusting, quirky little side project that is going nowhere, annoys me, drains me financially, physically and socially. has caused me to get arrested no less that FORTY THREE times in the past three months and several other reasons, not the least of which being that i find all of this nonsense disgusting, morally and ethically sour as well as completely bancrupt of anything remotely resembling a fresh idea and lacking both good taste and common sense". Mr. Manion later went on to pursue a variety of employment opporunities and eventaully ended up managing such flavor of the month shock rock greats as "The violet Terror Anarchists" and other similarly unrememberable Acts. The project toured for the next few years under the moinker of simply "Project WormBoy" but did not produce any commercial releases (there are supposedly many live bootleg tapes from early show floating around as well as rare film footage of a few shows). It wasn't until 1983 that Mr.Orcen came was brought into contact with the project by Stilletto Jarvis of the now defunct super pop group "Angry Tension Spider". They had been doing progressive eruo garage remixes of thier hit "Carbon Copied" in the same studio that the project had been rehersing in. Both Groups were playing extremely loud that day and both feeling extremely "on it" it wasn't until about three hours into the session that everyone realise they were beat matched. an album ("surrogate motion") was immediately recorded and pressed and the rest they say .. is history. |
