Artist description
The Mind Gap are the musical collaboration between Eric Hoegemeyer and Tommy Onyx. Their partnership first began back in early nineties when they were bandmates in the infamous Detroit group "Charm Farm" (Mercury Records)More recently the two have toured the globe as the backup musicians for Kevin Saunderson's E Dancer project.. Individually, Tommy is perhaps best known for his work with Inner City, having co-written 1992's chart topping "Hallelujah," and more recently for his remixes of "Buena Vida(Good Life '98)" His radio mix cracked the top ten on the UK pop charts and his club mixes reached the number 1 position in several countries. In addition to his involvement with Inner City in the recording studio, Tommy has also racked up almost 10 years experience and almost a dozen world tours as Inner City's live music director. Apart from his work with Saunderson, Tommy has released records of his own on labels such as Distance, Cyclo and Detroit's M3.Eric is not only an veteran writer and programmer, but he is also an accomplished drummer having played for rock artists like "Control Freq" (Warner Bros.) as well as rock/rap superstar Kid Rock. 2001 also finds Mr. Hoegemeyer with the coveted role of drummer in Atlantic recording artist 'Uncle Kracker's' band. The Bottom Feeder's sound can perhaps be described as 'crafty Detroit techno,' drawing from a broad musical palatte, reminiscent of groups like 'Underworld.'Their unique backgrounds combined with their unparalleled experience will surely make them a musical force to be reckoned with in the very near future. Their first 12" for KMS "Kaiser Blade/Fun Control" was released in June of 2000 (as the Bottom Feeders).Expect several more from this active due in the months to come, plus a live summer tour! |
