Artist History
Tame One's career started in the early 1990s as he teamed with DJ Kaos and El Da Sensai to form the hot underground hip-hop act Artifacts. Their first album, _Between A Rock And A Hard Place_ (1994, WEA/Atlantic/Big Beats Records), was an unqualified hit on the underground and mix tape scenes. Their following album, _Thats Them_ (1997, WEA/Atlantic/Big Beat Records), scored the group their first gold album with the hit single, "The Ultimate", which appeared on the _High School High_ soundtrack. Due to contract problems and a desire to focus on solo careers, Artifacts broke up in 1998. Tame One has went on to launch several 12" EPs including _In The Area_ (1998, Urban Productions), _Trife Type Times_ (1999, Rawkus), and his most recent release, _Crazee_ (2000, Boom Skwad Recordings). Tame One has also appeared as a guest with several artists including cousin Redman, Fatal Hussein, Govna Mattic and Hard2Contain. |
