Artist History The History….Formed during the summer of 1999 on Long Island, NY, the band was composed of Ian Tauber (guitars), Jon Zajac (guitars, bass, and vocals), and Michael Rawluk (drums and percussion). They began writing almost immediately, fusing a hard driving rhythm section with melodic guitars and tuneful vocals, creating what is know today as specialgueststar. The band went on to record a self titled, full length debut for independent release. The album garnered much interest in the local music and entertainment press with reviews appearing in Newsday's Nightbeat, The Island Ear, and The Inside Connection.The Present…Currently, the band includes Matt Schiavi, 21 (bass and vocals), and Kris Mazzarisi, 23 (drums and percussion) along with Tauber and Zajac. Armed with a second release featuring the new lineup, and a wealth of new material, the band has seen an enormous growth in songwriting and in its live performance as well.
