Artist description
Hard, fast socio-political punk rock.
"Raised Under Reagan play thrashy punk, midtempo, and Southern California sounding. D.I. came immediately to mind, but as the demo goes on they have more wo-wo-wo's than that, maybe a poppier Bad Religion with more guitar solos and less dead on harmonies" - Erin Yanke - Maximumrocknroll's Home of the Demos |

Artist History
Raised Under Reagan is a 4-piece punk rock band from Shreveport, LA. Together since August 2000, Raised Under Reagan has already begun to attract a rather large fanbase which consists of both local listeners as well as (thanks to the Internet) fans from all over the country as well as overseas fans in the UK and Australia. Raised Under Reagan delivers hard, fast socio-political punk rock similar to Bad Religion, Good Riddance, Propagandhi, Strike Anywhere, and Anti-Flag. After spending two years in Colorado Springs, CO, during which time they shared the stage with acts such as Dillinger Four, The Lawrence Arms, 1208, Western Waste, Pinhead Circus, and The Manges as well as being invited to play the Ernie Ball Local Heroes Stage at the 2002 Warped Tour in Denver, they have since relocated to Long Beach, CA. Raised Under Reagan is currently seeking a new drummer. |

Press Reviews
I've had the pleasure of listening to a lot of recordings put out by "small-time" bands over the past years. Most consist of poor quality, mediocre songwriting and enough "just-for-the-sake-of-rhyming" verses to make you want to vomit. Raised Under Reagan has a totally high-quality approach to punk rock. This, I like. Fast rhythms, intricate bass lines, pounding drums; it's all there. With a straight forward, in-your-face approach, this is the kind of stuff that makes the "new-school" genre of punk rock worth the time it took to weed through all the other mindless crap being force-fed to the masses. The influences from such bands as Pennywise, Bad Religion, Minor Threat, and Offspring are obvious. However, no obvious attempt at blatant duplication of style from the aforementioned bands was present. These guys can write and play their own music, which is very impressive. I like to think of myself as someone with a high expectation of music and this band definately makes the cut. I wouldn't be suprised if I hear from these guys on Epitaph stationery in the future.

When suddenly you get that feeling you should be calling all your old jammin’ buddies from back in the day to get together on some old shit you’ve all talked about playin’, but never got the right people in the room to succeed at said accomplishment.
ENTER: STAGE RIGHT, THE RIGHT PEOPLE
DISCLAIMER:
These guys are the kick in the ass you need in the morning to get out of bed, and the reason you flip off the policia` when he rides your ass for a mile before flashing his lights and speeding around you. They are most certainly the most promising punk-influenced quartet spawned in lousyana that I’ve ever lay an ear on (and I’d like to make that a challenge, punks……).
Fortunately, these guys were more resourceful than many still caught in the bowels of the country, and quickly jumped ship and headed for the sweet mountain air of Colorado.
Nothing but fast, melodic guitar playing, supersonic drum speeds, intense vocal harmonies and driving, elbow-someone-in-the-ribs down by the stage fast bass lines await you inside either of these recordings. The actual recording quality of Pride is much higher (if you like punk, you don’t care); the songs maintain a rigid standard of primarily goodness, with a hint of progression and a pinch of promise. Intelligent, persuasive lyrical content teeming with creative energy and delivered with all the intensity required for a great show or a new c.d. to memorize the words to while screaming the jumbled lyrics out loud and flipping off the fucking state trooper who just buzzed past you on his way in for coffee and shift change.
