Artist description
Because he is a musician of wide-ranging inspiration and subject matter, it is difficult to classify Nils Erickson. Certainly he is a singer-songwriter, a compelling one who immediately drew the attention of Sara Craig, manager of Caffe Lena (NY): "Engaging songwriting and careful instrumentation make for a varied repertoire...Very danceable!” He is also a modern equivalent of the troubadour; you may have already seen him at your local open mic as he has been known to attend clubs as far-flung as Virginia, Ohio, and Massachusetts. If you need a catch phrase to file him under try: Alt-country.
Nils’ style of songwriting is deeply personal; nearly every one of his songs is a page from his life. The style might be well described by a lyric from Chicago Bottle: “patient and quiet, but secretly riot.” His performance style is similar; subtle and nuanced, but when it comes time to riot, he holds nothing back. Nils delivers cutting insights in uncluttered analogies with toe-tapping songs that win over audiences every time.
According to himself, Nils is a songwriter's songwriter. "To me, the songs are really each an extension of the songwriter. They have to be about what makes you sick to your stomach and what you fall in love with. It's these physical/emotional reactions that drive us through every day. The things that cause those reactions are what I'm compelled to write and sing about. If it isn't real... I don't want to hear it and I don't know why anyone else should either, so I won't waste their time."

Artist History
Nils’ latest studio project “Little Things” represents Nils at his best. The collection of nine songs brings what people all too often categorize as “little” into the spotlight. All in the Timing and Chicago Bottle are, in their own ways, about missed connections. The quirky Boots and a Beach Blanket tackles modern existence with its traffic and relentless pursuit of “progress.” The Feel of You is a plain yet beautiful and rhythmically intriguing ode of devotion. In addition to singing, Nils plays guitar, organ, and even flute on this album. Little Things is now available for sale at the new website…
