Artist History Losing Ground is a five piece aggressive pop-punk band from south Jersey. Formed in the spring of 2000, the band began as only three kids looking to have fun playing their favorite punk songs. Losing Ground began to write their own songs and eventually decided to become more serious about playing, so they aquired a second guitarist and a new lead singer. As the size of the band grew so did their sound and dedication to their music. Each of its five members all had different creative input that would help shape the unique sound of the band. The bands infleunces stem from a variety of old school and new school punk bands. Old School influences include The Descendents, Bad Religion, and the Misfits. With newer influences such as Strung Out, New Found Glory, Midtown, The Ataris, and Millencolin. Being true to their punk roots and the D.I.Y. method, Losing Ground released there first 5 song EP, "Honk On Bobo", during the early summer of 2001. Since the release of that CD, the band has played with such acts as The June Spirit, Don't Look Down, Punchline, The Unsung Zeros, Over it, and The Starting Line. One of the highest moments in the bands history would have to be winning the battle of the bands at the Millville Moose Lodge, and bringing home a 250 dollar prize. With the release of the bands newest self-titled 5 song EP, just completed in January 2002, Losing Ground is looking forward to a brighter future. The new EP shows a tremendous growth in the bands sound and creativity, but still has the edge that got them to where they are today. We would like to give a special thanx to all our fans that have supported us and stuck by us through it all. If it wasn't for our fans we wouldn't be here today. We would also like to thank all the bands that have helped us out, you all know who you are...thank you everyone....we love you guys!
