Artist History Raised in Minnesota, J'Mykaels started out as a star athlete in high school before breaking away to pursue his true love--music. From a young age, he would sing and bang out songs like a natural, even on instruments he'd never been trained to play. In his career as a dancer for Prince, he met and befriended many musicians and industry professionals who helped him create his first CD, recorded mostly in Prince's own studio space, and has continued to grow as a songwriter, singer, and performer.
