Artist description
Edward Schocker writes for a mixture of alternate tunings and non-traditional instruments combined with theater and opera, from which he has assembled a collection of made and found instruments. In 1997 he created the 'Music For People And Thingamajigs' festival, an annual concert devoted entirely to works of alternate tunings and/or made and found instruments. Along with various residencies, Edward has conducted workshops/seminars in instrument building and tunings in America, Holland, and Germany. Recently Edward?s music has been distributed by Wolfmusic Publications Ltd, and can be found in libraries in New York, Amsterdam, Montreal and Tokyo.He has collaborated with dancers, writers, and performance artists to create a unique combination of sound, movement, visual landscape and text. Enjoying international recognition, Edward's music has been performed in such countries as the United States, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Japan, The Netherlands, and Slovakia |
