Artist History
It started out with me and a friend from school, guitars and drums respectively. We called ourselves Chapter One and played songs which titles involved "head". We had one and a half song I still play nowadays, but I haven't made descent recordings of them yet. Not much later we turned into a real band and changed our name to Cryo. We practiced all the time, but we never really preformed live and a few people started to get weary of practicing. Luckily then came along a show at my girlfriend's school and we blew the whole lot away... on sheer volume. We never had a chance to soundcheck, my mic was way too loud (and I can't sing), drummer couldn't hear the rest of us and the bass wasn't even there - literally. Well, after that we practiced some more and about 4 months later we get booked for a local club, some sort of battle of the bands. We ended third, which would have been the audience-enthousiasm price (the band that got the audience the most riled up won some sort of prize as well, we brought the most and loudest friends), but the decibel meter they were gonna use to determine the loudest audience refused duty, so we got "cheated" outta that one. Did get our picture in the newspaper the next day, but there was no footer or header or what the funk ever to explain who those nuts on the pic were. Excluding myself ofcourse. Not that I'm so arrogant, but I wasn't even on the pic. My spot on stage was to the far right and I made it onto only one of the eight pictures - not the one printed either. Inspite of what I might have implied, I'm not happy with the way the show went, all my volumes were funked up, later it turned out that my channel was turned all the way down and the only reason there was something to hear of me, was because I always have my effects turn to the complete maximum. Eventually we broke up. Lack of enthousiasm, irritations all around. I was on "non-active" for quite a while untill a friend I met on a chat I don't wanna name, got me onto GuitarWar (find it in the links). A site where you could go up against guitarists all over the world and see who came out the winner - I suggest you go check it out, coz it's, to me, the premium guitar-site on the web. Now that I've been there a while, discovered what kind of guitarist I am (a mediocre one), I got a "fan". He's got a page around here too (check the links again, for Drew) and he said to me:"No, really, MP3.com also allows regular guys on there, there's no elite there." Something along those lines anyway. And so here I am, on a mad quest for glory, trying to get semi or quasi, or maybe even pseudo, famous. Seriously, all I really want is to bring some music and have people enjoy it, hopefully to be remembered by it. Enjoy. |
