Damon Leverett has been writing and composing
music for the past 11 years. Having recently
moved to Arizona in 2002, he now looks forward
to continued exploration and performances in the
New Age Music genre.
Four compilations were produce from his efforts
in the past few years with “Grade Six” (1995),
“Jay Seven”(1998), “Special Relativity” (2000)
and “Stories from the Three Corners” (2001). All
of these recordings were composed, performed and
mastered in his studio. Selected compositions
have been featured on several online music
portals including MP3.com, IUMA, and the former
DarkCirle Music.com.
Notable performances were two engagements at
Lawrence Technological University School of
Architecture in Southfield, Michigan in 1999
and 2000. These student performances explored
issues of rhythm and digital music composition
as they related to physical patterns and
structures.
Damon has been largely inspire by contemporary
Jazz and New Age Artists such as Pat Metheney,
Lyle Mays, Patrick O’hern, Liz Story, Barbara
Higbie, Andreas Vollenweider, and Jean Luc Ponty.
He is currently working on a 5th collection of
compositions, which is largely influenced by
recent trips to Brazil and South Africa.
Damon is available for evening bookings in small
venues and such as cafes, restaurants and small
