Artist History
Against Overcast Skys has gone through many changes to get where they are today. Forming in high school... in the late 90s, guitarist: Dana and drummer: Pete, began writing music as as a metal duo named Diatribo (X3ro). College came, they parted ways. The summer after their first year of college, the two, along with newly incorporated bassist Tony, began writing, recording, and performing as a band called Chivre. This was absolutly nothing like they had been writing before. Much more melodic... more rock oriented than before... "progressive" if you must. Chivre then would go on for another year and a half. The band played shows all over Michigan and managed to gain a small, but very strong fan base that stretched from Grand Rapids, to Flint, to Ann Arbor, Detroit, and all over the US. The "end" of Chivre came in August, 2001 when Tony handed over his position as bassist to the band's good friend and long-time roadie, Pete Doane. Tony would go on to play three more concerts with the band, play one last show on Aug 31, and then leave for the US Air Force a short while later. Septmber came quickly and Against Overcast Skys was born. With plans to record again, a strong fan base, and good record label notice... There is a lot ahead for this band.
Be taken away by their music. Let it make you angry... sad... joyful... sorry... confused. Let it make you weep. For this, is real music.
