Artist History Grab your kick-ass soap and rock on down to the laundromat with a band named after the under-appreciated 6th letter of the alphabet: "F". The simplicity of the name should say a lot for the approach of this independent band from Montreal. Manila born, Saskatoon raised singer\songwriter Efren Pereira Jr has taken the long route to a musical career. Playing in cover bands from Western Canada to as far north as Yellowknife, Pereira Jr. has had the pleasure of playing with many accomplished artists such as Grammy award winner Don Johnson and Juno winner Bill Bourne. After making the move east to Montreal, Pereira Jr was once again inspired to write, record, and perform original material. His collaborations with bassist Rogel Dulos (also a Saskatonian), formerly of the Mary Warner Trio, fuse the lo-fi style of these two musicians with digital recording creating a sound they dub as "Hi-lo-fi". With influences ranging from the Beatles to the Police to Guided by Voices, ef has created music that is well-crafted, melodic and fresh. Motivated by the success of sibling Earl Pereira (Wide Mouth Mason), ef is ready to catapult their Laundry into the Canadian Independent music scene.
