Press Reviews
John Glennon of Kampala, Africa writes of R.ed.'s verse in Pruning to Shape 1960-1997: "America’s true voice resonates in these poems. Not Whitman, not Frost: tighter in line than the former, more angst in the imagery than the latter. His poem 'The Exception' is one of my favorite poems in the English language. Seamus Heaney in his Irish brogue would lose in a slam to it...I cannot think of California or Missouri without thinking of the truer lines of R.ed.'s poems." |
