Billy Joel studied the same piano method "The Thompson Method" as Homenko. In England there is a uniform method of study that is graded. In the U.S., "The Thompson Method" is the closest "method" that is a uniform method. Uniform in the sense that anyone who studies piano in England studies the same "method" using the same pieces. If you ask someone in England who studied piano this perosn will tell you the grade level of the method that was obtained.
