Artist description
A massive sixties influence is immediately apparent within their music, with the melody edge very much "in your face". Don't expect any subtle musical movement, as by the sixties influence I refer to "The Kinks" and "The Who" on a bad attitude day! Big guitar, bass and drums are fantastic if the songs are good. When the songs are great, then anything's possible. Garrison's debut album falls into that category. "ENEMY WITHIN" is a compilation of songs that not only smack you in the mouth; it stuffs the fist of music right down your throat afterwards! |

Artist History
GARRISON were born in 1999. The three guys, Paul Devlin (DEV), Alan Kane (HOSS) and Stevi McBride (STEVI) had previously worked together in the reasonably successful band "The Gilhoolys". Touring around Scotland from 1995 to 1998 playing venues such as King Tuts, Nice and Sleazy, Fat Sams and the Cafe Drummond, and the SECC Glasgow, where they supported top acts like Dave Sharpe, the BMX Bandits and the like.Being a five piece band, the inevitable happened, and musical differences caused the band to split and go their own separate ways. Dev, who is the singer and lyricist of the band, decided to team up with other musicians to conquer the frustration of mixed directions. That didn't work either! On a social night out, (bender), Dev met Hoss Kane, (a lifelong friend), and they discussed some of his new ideas. They contacted Stevi and formed as a three piece, as opposed to a five piece, and begun rehearsing. The band Garrison was formed! The lads have done some serious live work in the Glasgow, Edinburgh and surrounding areas,T.V. and many radio appearanceswhere their brand of music is really very well received. They are totally at home and in their element playing live dates. If asked, they would probably describe themselves as a potential time bomb, i.e. that they can always change direction of probability at any given time. The driving force behind the band is the fact that they are striving to create a musical awakening within their peers. |
