    Artist History
Catfische was formed in 1996 with founding members Micah Tordiff, Camden Chamberland, Nate Tingey, and Jenny Mahler. They performed where possible and after picking upfemale singer Stina (forgive me, I can't remember yourlast name) managed to line up a gig opening for Fishbone. Some time later Stina left the group. Catfische was playing a show with Nine Spine Stickleback at the Davis County Fairgrounds where they met up with ZakDavis, former singer of Hoo Ray Who? Zak played thema demo of HRW and also mentioned a couple of horn playershe knew that would fit in nicely. Cam called Zak two dayslater saying, "you and your horn section are in!" SoZak Davis, Matt Allen, and David Drake joined the band and prepared a show in two weeks. Opening for Nine Spine Stickle Back in Vernal, Utah. Catfische picked upa fan base fairly quickly. But having some members tooyoung to play in bars, shows were hard to come by. Catfischewrote new songs constantly as Zak would bring in hisideas and old songs from his earlier group, Hoo Ray Who?Catfische became friends with KXRK where they wereinvited to attend a Great X-Pectations Show at Salt Air.Playing along the likes of Soul Coughing and Vellejo.Along the way Micah was fired from the group. Manny Slackjoined in. As Catfische kept playing shows, the bandslowly began to break down. No one was interested inplaying anymore. Catfische broke up in early 1998. Zakreformed Catfische with Travis Taylor, who was replaced by Brian Bedard and Sam Cotrell, whowas replaced by Greg Griffeth for the final months.I have put up this site for the fans of Catfische. TheCD is forever out of print and people still to this daywish they had a copy of it. I'm sure if you could talk to anybody from Catfische, they would say thanks. It wasa shame that Catfische went down in flames, and I vow to never let stupid things get in the way offriendships. Besides, we were all pretty young at the time. All in all I beleive it was all worth it.Catfische broke up forever in spring of 1998. Zak, Matt, Dave, and Brian reformed Hoo Ray Who? and are happily living their dream.Nate served a mission for his church. Camden moved to Georgia with his family. Gregg is happily married and lives in Logan, Utah. Manny and Samare forming a rock group are doing well. Travis joined Tanglewood andare playing all over Utah. Jenny got married and I don't know what happened to Micah. So there you go!

    Press Reviews
"Catfische combines a strong brass section with excellent vocals and guitars to deliver a well balanced musical feast." John Nielsen Horizon (Salt Lake Community College)"In reference to KXRK's Cheap Live X CD compilation, Catfische's whiter than Stockton gimpfunker is an excruciating seven minutes."
