Artist History Self began writing when he was about ten to eleven years old with his two cousins Melron"Dr, Pepper" and Ronald"7's up". The three made up the infamous Soda Pop. Melron made the beats and Ronald, Slice a.k.a. Self, and Mel all wrote rhymes. Songs recorded from a Christmas gift keyboard in the year 1986 to a boom box. The rapping part of my hip hop slowed during juior high school due to sports and gals but the love of the music and the dress code screamed 1993. Self, now a high school student about to take a step to the east coast in a year or so to check out the college life. His high school years after the age of about 17, were just that, high school. A partner of his in this motherfuckin world was this cat named loose. wild as fuck type guy but the baddest musician. A few years of piano lessons as a preteen really had these to cats cool and tight as fuck. He got Self in touch with these cats, Keenon and Adrian some mo music dudes. Still ballin an shit Self spent his time away from the courts and track on some hang with these non jock niggaz. Now imagine a 19 year old kid in Philly PA, 1996 and he rolling with these two catz from the heart of hip hop, Da Bronx NY. We made up pieces of the almighty band BLAK NOIZ. Ja and Ra with that country ass nigga Self. I would say a love of the thought and life and reality of hip hop began around that time. And any man with a thought has to have a language to express it with. Rhyming opened up a new eye for me to see through. Still young it gave me a way of venting my frustration from not knowing yet how to acomplish what I needed to do with myself. Now 25 I am back In the only place I know, Oklahoma , Tulsa Oklahoma aroma. Doing music with this almighty band Medu Netr which happens to include my brothas Hooch aka adrian and kwreck aka keenon. Steady writing for the past 7 years I am getting to the point I definately can say exactly what needes to be said when I bust. I stay writing rhymes or just freestyling songs. This shit is worse than cigarettes as far as an high addiction rate. It got Self in a dope 15 man callabo, Stuck with these catz forever as far as eye see it.
