Artist History
Bruise Wish was formed back in 1997 with members Rob Beltran(then playing guitar), and Izzie machado on bass. But, it wasn't long when old time friend of Izzie, Carlos Perez, was looking for a band to play in. The three now friends set out to create a group with Rob and Carlos on guitars and Izzie on bass. They spun around in futile efforts looking for a singer and a drummer, rehearsing in places from Rob's basement and backyard,to Carlos' friend's basement, until another band (Rupture) gave Rob the idea that he should sing himself. From there on the search was for a drummer. While many drummers came in and out, Rob's friend Steven Allen, a drummer he had played with in the past, was asked to audition for the band, which had already written many of the present songs, and back then was called "Praying Mantis". As Stevie made his way into the band, the members looked at a song they had written by the name Bruise Wish (a screen name given to Izzie by a friend), it was then when Praying Mantis became "Bruise Wish". The now reformed and finally completed band made its debut at Images nightclub in Fairview, NJ on 1998, and went on to play places like Obsession, Club Bene, Love Sexy, South Beach, Hartley's, The Cove, and the legendary CBGB's in NYC. After a year and a half of playing clubs and throwing in-house concerts (which gave them most of their fame), Bruise Wish was ready to hit the recording studio to record their first self titled cd "Bruise Wish" which would mark the final works of their drummer Steven Allen, as he departed the band in Late 2000. Nonetheless Bruise Wish is carrying on what they began 4 years ago with new members "Diesel Theory's former bassis/vocalist Tom Jack on second guitar and Greg Herzog on drums, and surely will keep bringing new listeners to their new style of music. |

Press Reviews
"the best thing about this band: marilyn manson likes the name. I wish marilyn manson liked my name! this song (Worthless) starts out kinda angry. makes me want to crawl into a little corner and hide. then it slows up and in my opinion gets better, but i know you angry kids out there will love the begining more. have fun hitting each other with blunt objects!"--mp3.com station K-C0CK 93.2 FM........."My boyz from JC. One of the best live acts I've seen. Real aggressive grooves."--mp3.com station Something Wikkid This Way Comes........."Part of the infamous Terrible Trio back in '99(Bruise Wish/Diesel Theory/Eviladam).
