Artist History Valid actually evolved from a musical relationship between Paul, Chris & Eric in a church band at Woodcrest Chapel in Columbia, MO. We still play together in that band, called RTS. We decided to form Valid so we could work on our own original music. A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US. PAUL - Paul played in an 80's-90's cover band throughout the 90's called Black Tie. Don't ever challenge Paul to a game of 80's rock trivia. I guarantee you will lose! Paul is an excellent guitar player and singer. He sings lead on our first single 10,000 Miles and was also the predominant writer for that song. ERIC - This is Eric's first real rock/pop band. Classically trained in piano, Eric spent the first 10 years of his musical career focusing on instrumental jazz and choral music. He's played in several different jazz bands over the past 10 years. He's accompanied, sang and written music for several different choral groups. He didn't really start singing solo until he got involved at Woodcrest. He has played keyboards, sang background, solos and led worship on occasion. Eric also writes jazz/new age piano music. Check his page out from the Links tab. CHRIS - Chris Mitchell is the associate pastor of music for Woodcrest Chapel. His talents and heart for reaching our culture with the message of Christ are contagious. He has a degree in vocal performance. So, he's actually taken lessons. Seriously, he's one awesome singer and a pretty darn good keyboard player, too. Chris toured with a Texas-based Christian pop band called Gabriel for several years before being called to Woodcrest. VALID? - The name Valid describes the way we feel about our Christian Faith. There are many these days that think the Christian Faith is based upon mythology and fairy tales. We feel the evidence is there to support what we believe and being a Christian has nothing to do with blind faith and burying your head in the sand. The factual evidence coupled with the incredible love and joy we've experienced from serving God are more than enough for us to know our faith is indeed Valid!
