Artist History thumbscrew was formed in the summer of 98 with the intent of playing rock music and having fun. the only thing that has changed since then is that it has been moved from the garage to the stage. thumbscrew has worked above and beyond the expectations set before them. when someone said they couldn't do it, they did it. adversity, perserverance, and love keep this band of brothers going. this is a project of friends doing what they love to do, and nothing else. with all members under the age of 19, their achievements are uncomprisable to the precedent. they are always looking for another chance to perform, not only for people, but mainly for themselves. this music is containing and theraputic. hopefully, thumbscrew will have you coming back for more.

ANYway, back to the topic of this post/review: Thumbscrew: Beauty if You Dead. If you play before Thumbscrew you will be forgotten and if you play after Thumbscrew may God have mercy on your band! NEVER have I seen a band move like these guys, and keep it up the entire show! But Derek, Stephen, Daniel, and Poopie rock the house each and every night they play, but thats still gettin off the subject at hand! Thumbscrew threw together a 4 song EP this year that totally rocks ass! It is chaos in a metal box that is so pissed off it cannot be contained! Beauty is You Dead kicks off with the smash your face song "Second Place Treat" that clocks in at 1 minute and 45 seconds! Its a quick one two punch that will leave you wondering what just happened. Next up without hesitation is "Fighting Wonders" which is like a soft kiss from a brick wall coming at you at 100 miles per hour! "The Stuff Movies are Made of" starts off with a slow beginning making the listener wonder if the same band is still playing, and after a while the fury that has kicked your ass for the first half of the CD returns with an unforgiving punch! Finally the last song which clocks in at 6 minutes and 5 seconds is called "Me Without You" and after listening to the CD I was somewhat disappointed because the CD really doesn't even begin to capture what the band does live, so if you get the chance to go see Thumbscrew, don't miss it or you'll never forgive yourself! counterintelligence recordings
