    Artist History
Black Polished Chrome was formed by Lex and Chris Hart from the ashes of a previous project,Crash Symphony,in 1998. After recieving an oustanding reception from the local scene of Wilmington,NC and surrounding cities, they found themselves in need of a new drummer and guitarist. While taking time off to develop a new musical direction,Stef and Chris Hart decided to pursue a family life as well. After getting married and having their baby, they felt it was time to more actively continue their music. Stef began writing new material, and reviving some of their old favorites that were never used. She arranged the songs and completed their first 4 song demo,The Veil. Thus BPC was born. Now actively getting back into their music, they look for new members and are always listening to their muse.

Review:Black Polished Chrome, demo The Veil,1-25-01 By,Michael Ewing of the group Death Lies Bleeding. A highly impressive first outing by Black Polished Chrome(formerly Sister Adore),a band whose sound pushes the boundries of the dark-alternative genres. BPC has one of the most original sounds that I have heard from the Wilmington,NC music scene in quite some time. In a town where boring hippie college rock is overabundant,Black Polished Chrome come across as an exciting breath of fresh air.Track 2-God, is a strong and brooding composition with quite a menacing sense of urgency. Building up from it's start like a storm at sea, rising up from a calm into a barrage of angst and majestic power. The vocalist,Lex,has a great command of when to let the full force of emotion lash out and when to restrain herself with a more subdued approach, giving this track a truly haunting quality.Track 1(to backtrack)Bastard Time, reminds me a little of The Sundays during the opening,or maybe Strange Boutique. It's light mood switches soon to a similar intensity as the aforementioned "God". It displays a well-balanced writing sensibility of structured music and intelligent lyrics.Top notch instrumentalists, intelligent songwriting, and a damn fine vocal performance...not much bad that I can say about this band. They're definitely worth checking out,so I suggest you do so...
