Artist description
"subtle shadings, a moody intensity and shameless artistic abandon..." In the lingering times of cookie cutter mentality, it’s difficult to find a sound, a band, or even just a song that stands on its own. Maxwell Strait disregards all conventional logic. “With subtle shadings, a moody intensity and shameless artistic abandon” (Centre Daily Times, February 2001), Maxwell Strait made a huge first impression with the release of “Red, Blue and Green”. Each song reads like a screenplay and reverberates hours after listening. Again the band walks away from traditional roles by using three distinct voices to paint the picture. The result is a blend of thousands of influences, both lyrically and musically and to try to describe it just wouldn’t do it justice. |

Artist History
Scott Mangene and Ted McCloskey have been playing and traveling together for years. They fronted the extremely popular Sideshow Bob; releasing 3 CDs, selling over 10,000 units and setting attendance records throughout the northeastern states. What they weren’t ready for was Molly Countermine. Like some storybook siren, she seduced the boys with her “sultry, yet vulnerable presence.” It’s your basic “rags to riches” story with the exception of the “riches”. Since first playing together in the spring of 2000, the three of them have been pretty much glued to the hip; writing and recording “Red, Blue and Green” and playing out nearly 6 nights a week. They added the killer rhythm section of Grammy nominated Queen Bee and the Blue Hornet Band to complete the live band setup but also love to frequent smaller clubs and coffee house as an acoustic trio. The songs effortlessly translate into every atmosphere and any audience is immediately captivated. |
